new hugin 8?
I've been try'n the new hugin beta RC and love it! For those of you who don't know what hugin is, it's an open source GUI for panotools. It intergrates several opensource programs that allow you to stitch together many photos into a single panoramic image. It works like a charm. - examples of what it can do

time-lapse on the D700?
i have been playing with my D700's interval timer and a bit of flash to create little time-lapse movies that can be controlled by mousing over the movie. I'm very happy with the results. check it out & here.
screen keys?
i found this interesting keyboard that lets to program all the keys with various symbols when using different software. This way when you hold the alt shift or control keys the symbols for the shortcuts actually show up on the keys. not really necessary, but really cool if your a geek like me. It`s 100% reconfigurable. Only $1244.95 on amazon, i guess it will have to wait.

gaia for flash SEO?
I've been looking for solutions to the problems of getting my flash based websites indexed by google, this flash framework could be just the thing i have been looking for. i'll report back my findings at a later date. I would love to hear if you have tried this framework for SEO and what the results have been. I've seen examples on the gaia website, but I don't have any real way of testing the indexing of the sites other than just running the test myself.

do people dream of electric cars?
Perhaps this is the closest thing we will see to a mass produced electric car in the near future... I would own one, too bad it's being made in China and not Canada. Maybe once the sky falls for the auto industry they will start to make them. Watch this video. I would love a full electric vehicle for day to day use in the city. Who knows, maybe they will ship them right from China to a Walmart near you. Warren Buffett can see the writing on the walls. Maybe I should invest too.

Flash Based Sites?
I love them as much as I hate them. But I've discovered some interesting new tools that help to take a flash based site to the next level.
Item 1 - swffit
a super handy tool to help you make your flash site fill the screen in a predictable way. I love it.
Item 2 - swfaddress
this lets you assign a url to frames of a timeline inside your flash site, meaning that you can bookmark pages, and used the forward and back buttons in your browser while viewing a flash website. Awesomeness!
Item 3 - Google Analytics for Flash (gaforflash)
If you don't know what google analytics is and you have a website or a blog you MUST to check it out.
gaforflash lets you use these awesome tools inside a flash website. Rock on!

Magnetic Liquid Rocks
I love watching videos of sculptures made of ferromagnetic liquid. They are almost as awesome as non-Newtonian fluids.

Reuleaux?
I found this website HowRound.com
They have all these devices that use linkages to draw lines and various shapes, but the most linteresting thing i've found on the website is the Reuleaux's rotor. The way the rotor moves across the table reminds me of a how this man is able to move large square stones over a track made up of a series of arcs.

Immortality (In Jellyfish Form)
Is it possible that the "Turritopsis nutricula" Jellyfish is "immortal"? I've been reading a few articles about this creature that seem to suggest that this is the case, but have found little scientific research to back it up. Claiming something is immortal is a bold statement. Neat creature anyway. google.."Turritopsis nutricula" and read about it.

Dead Pixel
My 245T has a dead pixel. :( I guess one in 2304000 isn't bad. But it's shocking how your eye just seems to notice it. Overall I'm still super happy with my monitor.
Play with PB-4 Bellows
I've been playing with my Nikon PB-4 Bellows and my D700 to see what sort of images I could create. So far it's just been testing of various lenses using reversal rings.
The best close up image I've been able to create have been with my 28mm lens and a reversal ring with an M2 extension tube.
I was able to zoom in on a tiny area of a transit token.

Pin Hole D700?
I wanted to see what type of results I could get with a Nikon D700 and a home made pin hole lens made out of foil stuck on a lens reversal ring.
Results... not awesome.

blog is back?
I think I'm gonna start posting on this blog after a few years of not doing it. My previous blog was simply a list of websites with content I found interesting. This isn't gonna be much more. Perhaps a few ramblings.
